CDA TRAINING and REGISTRATION INFORMATIONEager-to-Learn offers courses which satisfy CDA training and CDA renewal requirements Eager-to-Learn, a nationally recognized leader in online education, offers a comprehensive base of knowledge and skills focused on meeting the needs of the whole child. Participants learn how to best nurture the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of the children in their lives. Alongside this leap in knowledge comes the opportunity to meet one of the requirements for the National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA). Eager-to-Learn, is pleased to offer two options to fulfill the 120 hours CDA training requirement: CDA Cohort Program - Child care providers can meet their 120 hour CDA training requirement by registering for nine, pre-elected classes that cover at least 10 hours of training in each of the eight required content areas. Participants in the cohort take all nine online classes together, giving them a supportive learning community for the duration of the program (approximately one year). In addition to the quality and convenience of the courses, the Eager-to-Learn CDA Cohort Program is an affordable CDA training alternative. For the low cost of $480 (approximately half the price of traditional training courses) participants will have over 120 hours of high quality training taught by experienced, knowledgeable and certified instructors. CDA cohort programs start at various times throughout the year. Individualized Training - CDA candidates may also opt to select and register for individual Eager-to-Learn courses that meet specific learning and scheduling needs. Review the courses on the Class Listing page to determine the courses that work best for you. For more information on both CDA training options, contact Cory Woosley at coryw@mnchildcare.org or 651-746-4024.
Participants may withdraw and receive a full refund up until one week prior to the start of the first class. A participant who withdraws from the cohort after the one-week deadline will not receive a refund. In order to give as many learners as possible a chance to participate in Eager-to-Learn it is highly recommended that you give as much notice as possible if withdrawing from the course. A CDA (Child Development Associate) is a national credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition and is received after completing the CDA assessment. Using the Direct Assessment Method, a choice of three specializations can be earned: Preschool, Infant/Toddler, or Family Child Care. To earn a National CDA, 120 hours of child care training is required in eight content areas. (A minimum of 10 hours is required in each content area.) Eligibility requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 480 hours of experience working with children in the last five years, and an age requirement of 18 year.
