This course will review the history of authentic assessment and current trends within the early care and education field. Participants will gain knowledge and skills around data collection (the gathering of information through observation), data analysis (looking for patterns and trends, scanning, etc.), and data reporting (how to share authentic assessment information with parents). The goal of the course is to facilitate the understanding of the purposes for and uses of authentic assessment data to inform practice.
