Trainers who attend this training will be prepared to teach the revised Minnesota Child Care Development Associate: Infant/Toddler (MNCDAI/T) which is 120 hours of training in a series based, cohort model of classroom training for both family child care and center-based infant/toddler providers serving children ages 0-36 months which is intended to meet the training requirement to pursue the national CDA certificate through the Council for Professional Recognition. The sessions give providers opportunities to think about and practice new and/or existing skills and information, complete homework required for the portfolio and learn the content required by the Council. The CDA credential is a “best first step” because it demonstrates a provider’s knowledge, skills and abilities when working with young children, as well as the commitment to career advancement and professionalism.
